Advanced Security

The BP-71M31 offers multiple layers of system and data protection. During start-up, the MFP checks for anomalies in the BIOS firmware and, if any issues are detected, automatically aborts start-up and triggers a BIOS recovery. Integration with Microsoft Entra ID allows secure user authentication across enterprise networks.

Additional security features such as firmware whitelisting, self-recovery, and a Trusted Platform Module ensure sensitive documents and data remain protected. Optional Bitdefender anti-malware software provides an extra layer of network and device security.

Seamless Connectivity

Collaboration is enhanced with the built-in Microsoft® Teams connector, allowing secure printing to or scanning from Teams channels directly from the control panel. Single sign-on lets users connect mobile devices via WiFi, AirPrint, Bluetooth, NFC, or QR code, enabling printing and workflow access from anywhere.

Intuitive Operation

A motion sensor wakes the MFP from sleep mode when a user approaches. Communication lamps display device status, while the 10.1” tiltable colour LCD touchscreen with smartphone-style touch controls makes navigation simple and intuitive.

High Productivity

The BP-71M31 delivers black & white print and copy speeds of up to 31 ppm. Scanning is fast and efficient, with a 300-sheet Duplex Single Pass Feeder capable of 2-sided scanning at up to 300 ipm. A double-feed detection option prevents errors by stopping jobs if multiple sheets are fed.

The standard Print Release function allows users to securely release print jobs from the most convenient MFP on the network. A wide range of finishing options—including folding, punching, saddle stitching, and manual or stapleless stapling—adds flexibility for professional output.

The Sharp Application Portal ensures the MFP remains up-to-date with automatic online firmware and application updates.

Designed with sustainability in mind, up to 50% of the base unit is made from recycled plastics, and cardboard packaging reduces plastic waste. Harmful materials have been eliminated, and key components have extended lifespans, reducing service visits. Advanced eco-technologies deliver low TEC values and standby power consumption, with a ‘balance’ power-saving mode that keeps the MFP ready to operate in under 3.5 seconds.
