At start-up, the MFP checks BIOS firmware for anomalies and, if detected, aborts start-up and automatically recovers the BIOS. Integration with Microsoft Entra ID supports secure user authentication across your organisation.
Additional security features include firmware whitelisting, self-recovery, and a Trusted Platform Module, ensuring sensitive documents remain secure. Optional Bitdefender anti-malware software adds another layer of protection for device, network, and data security.
Seamless Connectivity
Collaboration is effortless with the built-in Microsoft® Teams connector, enabling users to print to or scan from Teams channels directly from the control panel. Single sign-on allows mobile devices to connect via WiFi, AirPrint, Bluetooth, NFC, or QR code, giving secure access to enterprise workflows from anywhere.
Intuitive Operation
A motion sensor wakes the MFP from sleep mode when a user approaches, while communication lamps provide at-a-glance status updates. The 10.1” tiltable colour LCD touchscreen with smartphone-style touch controls gives easy access to all productivity functions.

The BP-71M55 delivers black & white print and copy speeds of up to 55 ppm. Toner and paper can be replaced without pausing the job, keeping workflow smooth. The built-in 300-sheet Duplex Single Pass Feeder scans two-sided documents at speeds of up to 300 ipm, with double-feed detection to prevent errors.
Secure Print Release allows jobs to be collected from the most convenient MFP, while a wide range of finishing options—including folding, punching, saddle stitching, and manual/stapleless stapling—adds flexibility for professional output.
Eco-Friendly Design
Up to 50% of the BP-71M55’s base unit is made from recycled plastics, and cardboard packaging reduces plastic waste. Harmful materials are eliminated from production, and key components are designed for longer life, reducing service visits. Advanced eco-technologies ensure a low TEC value and minimal standby power consumption, while the ‘balance’ power-saving mode keeps the MFP ready to operate in under 3.5 seconds.
The Sharp Application Portal keeps the MFP current with automatic online firmware and application updates.
